A related issue is handling of referenced files – see this request as well as the comments: Relocate multiple images + show file paths for missing images.

Another related issue: Improve Catalog Performance (Metadata Load).

Capture One regularly becomes unresponsive when switching between tool tabs. Here's an example of one minute's unresponsiveness:

    Wow, that's bad.

What was the state of C1 before you switched the tool tab, had it loaded all images it wanted to load already or had there been some activity going on in the background?

It was shortly after I had opened Capture One; I hadn't done anything other than switch between tool tabs a couple of times.

I just tried a few times again: opening Capture One, waiting for metadata to load in the Filters tool (just to make sure that that isn't what's causing the unresponsiveness), All Images selected in the Library, no images selected in the browser – when switching from the Library tab to the Adjust tab Capture One becomes unresponsive for 29-31 seconds every time; the same goes for switching back to the Library tab.

The strange thing is that it doesn't always happen, sometimes there's no unresponsiveness when I switch between tool tabs, and sometimes, as in the video above, it's even worse.

How satisfied are you with Peakto now? And the combined usage of Peakto and C1...

I use Peakto all the time now. It works well for browsing and finding images. Its new Find Similar Images function (i.e. similar to the currently selected image) is very useful too. One thing that needs improvement, and I believe they're working on this, is that Capture One doesn't currently allow access to preview files, so images adjusted in Capture One will only be displayed in thumbnail size. I haven't yet used its metadata editing capabilities yet, as it would require synchronizing both ways, which I assume would only make Capture One's performance issues much worse.

Even after splitting up my main catalogue into four different catalogues, Capture One still becomes unresponsive when searching, deleting/adding keywords, etc.
