System requirements for new Mac Mini M2 for tethered capture view
-
Sorry, so my question is… in the New Max Mini M2 Pro… should I go for the 16GB ram or upgrade to 32GB ram?
I know from past experience that Capture one uses my GPU power.. so I’m getting the highest possible GPU power in the new Mac mini M2 Pro… but do I need to get bigger memory too?0 -
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for that. I reckon that spot on. I was thinking exactly like that.
I know the Max Studio would be faster with its additional GPU cores… but I really didn’t want to get an older chip set when M2 pro is already out. And I unfortunately they haven’t released the Mini with the M2 max… only the MacBookPro has the M2 max option which is disappointing as I didn’t need a laptop, I needed a desktop machine. And like you, I thought of waiting for the Mac Studio to arrive with the M2 max chipset but I got tired of the wait to get the latest and the best as I’ve been waiting since 2019 for a new 27” iMac to release but that never happened.I’ve gone ahead and bought the Mac Mini with 12 core CPU and 19 core GPU and 32GB of memory. I’m hoping that the 13 less GPU cores than the Mac Studio is not that big a problem in the coming years with the C1 24-26 releases 😌
FYI: C1pro is always super fast on laptops. Even if it’s a MacBookPro from 2015.
It struggles with large 27” 5K Apple screens when it comes to masking & tethered shooting viewer.0 -
Thanks :) I definitely will.
Cheers!0
