Empty Session Trash grayed out (C1 23 Pro 16.1.1.16)

I'm trying to empty my session trash folder, but the "Empty Session Trash" option is grayed out across the board, whether I right-click on the Trash Folder in the Session Library, or go to File > Empty Session Trash...

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

    Update: 
    I just noticed that this only happens with existing sessions. New sessions are okay. 
    Existing sessions (created before upgrade to 16.1.1.16) have an error message when I check the database.

    And the error message is a secret, of course  ;-)

    I never upgraded to Capture One v.21,22,23, but according to my memory C1 puts up a dialog where it asks if you want to convert the existing session to match the new software. Did you see such a dialog, and did you answer yes?

    BTW: An update of the DB is not necessary (and not asked by C1) after a minor upgrade as I did.

    And you never ever moved any file or folder "belonging to" Capture One using some tool other than Capture One, right?

    From the top of my head I do not know what Capture One actually does here nor what "recovery location" is, it may have replaced locations no longer found on disk with some value for that means "unknown" to pass the test.

    I also have no clue that that means (the developers should know :)).
    I'm using C1 since version 6 so I really have some experience and have seen some bugs after upgrades. But this one is new to me.

    One reason for Empty Session Trash being greyed out could be that there is nothing in the session trash folder, or Capture One thinks there is nothing in it. It is worth checking that what you think is being used as the session trash actually is the folder that is being used. Typically, a session is created with the standard folders for Capture, Selects, Output, and Trash. If you look in the System Folders section of the Library tool, you should see the trash icon next to the Trash folder. But if you don't, then for some reason Capture One is using some other location for the session trash.
