Can’t I just add the master folder that contains all of my shoots, each in its’ own folder, into a Catalog? And not have it reorganized in any way?

I’ve been using Bridge. Should I add all of my dated shoot folders to a new Catalog? Is that the way for me to proceed? thanks to all for helping me!
