I think it is strange to need different brightness for web and print. If you have a calibrated workflow, then it should be universal. I suspect your printing setup is not properly calibrated.

But Kelvin (K) is a known standard scale and hence saying something is 5000K means there is a value people can "expect". Problem is this not only happens in Phaseone C1but also in PS and lightroom.

Paul,You said V 4.5. Have you tried V 4.5.2 ? It is quite stable now.

Follow-up: I trashed the COL50 file and relaunched C1 5. Now the images render correctly.

I just tried sending 2 versions of the same file sharpened at different settings from my Windows C1 Pro to PS CS3. The Jpegs show different sharpness as expected.
