FWIW, I use a Lacie external Thunderbolt drive and have no problems at all.

The backup process saves the database information (what file is where etc.) and details of edits made to files. It does not save the RAW file itself. That needs to be separately backed up.

Have you tried round tripping to PS without using TIFF files? You can create a PS file and edit away, and then the PS file is imported back into C1 for you. It works very well.

Thanks again. They are my wife's shots, and she gave them to me. I will try and get a copy myself to see if they are bigger, otherwise i will just go with them. She really wants me to use them!

Thanks folks,I actually purchased LumaRiver two weeks ago and will create my own profile. I was just surprised that C1 does not recognise the camera as a starting point!
