Capture One 21 not launching, AdjustOpenCL_External.app not launching
Nothing has been working since my upgrade to Capture One 21. I have tried to follow all tips from this webpage:
https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002638818-Capture-One-is-not-launched
but nothing has worked. AdjustOpenCL_External.app doesn't launch either. Both seem to run in the background as they prevent the computer from shutting down until I force-quit them. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Capture One 21 and restarted my computer, of course.
Any ideas???

I've had no success whatsoever trying to get CO21 to run despite multiple attempts, it won't even launch. Trying to get it activated was difficult enough. My only hope is to get v20 reinstated from a Time Machine backup. I'm ready to simply throw CO in the Trash and use something else that works.

Update: problem solved by changing security and privacy settings to give Capture One full access to the computer. Don't know why this was necessary and why it wasn't default.

and why it wasn't default.
It's a Mac thing. For security reasons an application can request access, but it can not take it without your permission. And it's a bit more complex than that.
When an application tries to access something that needs your permissions macOS is supposed to put up an alert asking for access. For some reason this doesn't always happen. Or it happens but a keystroke or mouse click made the alert go away without giving the requested permissions. In any case macOS thinks it asked so it won't ask again. The operating system rejects access, instead.
Here's where Capture One could do something -- it could realize it didn't have permission and display it's own alert telling you how to fix the issue.
