Sounds like your increment counter is set to "0"...From the flyout options in Output naming (3 small dots) go to "Set Output counter increment" - check it is "1"

As this is (now) a dynamic menu it is not covered by the shortcut manager (same for Styles, Workspaces, Scripts) but it is possible to access if you add your own shortcut using MacOs' menu shortcut...
