I tested with Nikon NEF, exported to jpg and it was fine.

I had similar issues with sidecars too. Every time I started CO my hard drive went berserk and the photo count in the catalog would slowly climb from zero. I had to switch them off.

You'll just have to wait, you could shoot raw+jpg for a bit.

I have just noticed this issue too, I'm using catalogs. I made edits to my tiffs in Photoshop and I can't get CO to re-generate a preview. Maybe its a bug in 7.1.4 ?I have created a case with support.
