Ideally you want to use SSD for images that need to be imported & worked on and than finished image sets are moved to HDD archive. But also, Capture One is slow with large catalogs.

If I recall correctly, preview generation is mainly done by CPU & SSD than kept in RAM and exporting is where GPU is used the most.

This video has the most in depth testing for C1 on the new MBP that I've seen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrHH1Ge7wZo It looks like RAM is more dependent for Adobe and GPU for C1.
