CaptureOne V12 and V20 for Fujifilm on one PC
Is it possible to run V20 for Fujifilm in parallel to V12?
Because I changed the camera to Fujifilm, I would like to purchase now a new licence V20 (permanent) for Fujifilm.
Nevertheless for some older files, it may be useful to keep the V12 installation on my PC

I don't think this may be useful in any way. However when it comes to fully featured CO you usually can keep parallel installations, even though there seems to be a problem with start menu and CO20 entries do not appear if 12 is still installed. Regarding Fujifilm versions, is v12 the express one? In that case, if they didn't change it, you could only use one catalog. If you'd like to edit it with v20 you should upgrade it and it will be unusable by previous version making parallel installation useless. Instead you can upgrade it to v20 but you're not compelled to upgrade rendering engine for old images, if that's what you want to avoid.0 -

I'm planning to run in parallel the full version of capture V12 with the full version of capture V20 for Fujifilm.
I always used, and willl continue to use sessions in both versions.
(The express version does not allow sessions and does not support layers)
I may install a 30 day trial version 20 to test the coexistance of the 2 versions on the same PC.

Ok, sorry. I misunderstood your topic. Is it convenient to buy a new v20 for Fujifilm License rather than upgrade your existing license to 20? You could also take advantage of the new features should you want to revisit old pictures.
A new license for Fujifilm is 149€. With CO20 pre-order you would have paid less for an upgrade. Now it should be 169€. It's not that big difference.0 -
If you upgraded from 12 to 20 be prepared that older license will be later disabled.
I learned it hard way - I upgraded my PC to C1 12, but still using version 11 on MacBook while traveling and forced to update in middle of trip in area with really bad connectivity.0 -

The older license will be retired because they are giving you a new one to activate newer version too. That's why it is called upgrade and in this case you just need to use the new license to re-activate the older version. You can even install any of the previous ones.

for this interesting point.
Finally it seems wise to continue with the Pro version.
Now a trial version is runnung on my PC and I apreciate the upgraded user interface.
The improvement in noise reduction seems minor (Fujifilm X-T1 at 6400 ASA).
This may be related to the ISO invariant sensor and the V12 allows already some noise reduction when parameters are carefully selected.
