C1 20.1 PDF Documentation - new doc, new oddity

    They say :

Download the User Guide in 5 pdf files. This is done for your convenience as the entire User Guide consists of 39 sections and nearly 1000 pages.

How could this be convenient ? If I need to access two different parts of the documentation, I need to have 5 PDF files opened simultaneously with no possibility to jump from one to another by using a link. This is nonsense.

How about, a single document containing all 39 parts could also be offered in addition to the 5 separate parts.

Then the customer can choose according to their own preference.

    Hi,

They just released a full version. Quick reaction to our requests. This is unusual. This version still has a drawback though : the detailed table of contents has disappeared. But well, I can live with it while waiting for a PDF having a normal navigation system as usual in any PDF software documentation.

    Page numbers are also missing.

I can't be happy with such a poor documentation given the price of this software. Even shareware authors can do better.

By the way, the online documentation is also lacking a navigation tool. All entries are listed in one very long page full of unnecessary wide paragraph spaces. You have to scroll, click and click again before reaching the piece of documentation that you are looking for. A navigation panel/sidebar is obviously missing.

    Hi,

I observe that P1 are pursuing strange support practices. On this page , all comments have been removed and the discussion has been closed. They may not appreciate negative (but justified) comments about the PDF and online documentation but removing them is not the right way to fix these issues.

Hey Lily, don't be afraid to exchange with paying users. This is a good way to collect feedback and to enhance a documentation that is known as the Achille's heel of C1 since a long time.
