When opening first time preview must be generated. Second and later attempt must open faster.

It does seem to help to run Defragmenter from the accessory System tools under Vista specifically for the image drive....and turn off the option to have it run continuously...

Hi & thanks for the input

I am aware previews/thumbnails must be generated when first accessed.
Unfortunatley previews remain extremely slow to load on second & later attempts, especially when selecting multiple images where the preview takes ages for C1 to acknowledge.
eg click one image in thumbs window (secondary monitor), shift click for subsequent 4 images, I have to wait 10-25secs for C1 to respond & display previews (primary monitor).
This is not a new problem, I've been persevering with it for quite some time.
I am now fed up with the problem & hope to find a solution!

Re Disc Defrag, I have that sheduled to run weekly in the middle of the night, when no one requires the system.
I would never knowingly have that run continuously while working on the system ...maybe I misunderstand your suggestion?

Incidently I have my image HDD's running in RAID 0 (striped) which should also enable lightening fast read/write.
Which as initially mentioned is the case with other Apps, just C1 seems to really really struggle...sslllllloooooooooooooooooooooowww...

Any more suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Jakub from PhaseOne Tech solved the problem.
Complete uninstall & reinstall fixed it.

Now flying thru the work again!

    Thanks

I have the same issue. It seems as though the image cache is broken or something. when you did a "complete" uninstall, did that require anything other than hitting uninstalolin program manager?

In addition to the uninstall option, you can look in the Phase One knowledgebase for a list of actions to perform a more thorough uninstall.
