hm, I would still check if the camera settings are correct. in the remote settings you need to have usb connection selected , this is different to the a7r3. when for example wifi  is active the camera still connects to the computer but as mass storage device  and does not work with c1 maybe remote does handle this different.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Yes the camera is set to USB. As mentioned, in Sony Remote the Camera shows without problems over USB. All Software/Firmware is on the latest Version.

strange, if possible I would try different cables usb-c / micro usb to see if this makes a difference. also power via usb can make problems with c1.

I tried everything, different cables, all available USB ports, with/without power over USB. The same setup on my iMac Pro in my office works without any problems.

indeed strange, last option remove c1 completely with all service files and reinstall it but maybe you have tried this already too.

I did a reinstall with no success. there is still no camera showing in Capture One 20. The Sony A 7R IV PC-Remote setting display says "Connected over USB" when plugged in and when unplugged "No USB cable detected". So the connection seems to be OK but Capture One not recognizing the camera.

Is the Mac seeing the camera as a Storage Device before C1 gets a chance to grab it as a camera?

If you have memory card(s) in the camera try removing them to see if it makes any difference? (You may have tried this but I did not see it mentioned.)

new idea, as the a7r4 is  also supported  in the older version - up from 12.1.2  I would download it and test if you can establish a connection with this version.

this is really strange, maybe the karma police has decided you have to use sony software from now on :-) I was using the same setup for a location shooting this monday without issues, the only idea I have left is  that some background process or left over software is interacting with c1.  is something installed on the mbp  which is not installed on the iMac ?  did you also test c1 with a new user account  ?  also when you deinstalled c1 did you make sure everything c1 related got really deleted in the home / system library too ?
