Question Mark in circle

I'm trying to sort a couple of issues with my software and I have already had good advice from the forum and hopefully someone may be able to help on this particular issue:

I have at times had this issue over the years but managed to fix it. Now I can't. I think it is an issue with my CO library and something I have done to mess it up......

I have shown a screenshot of blank frames with the question mark and I also have catalogs that include the images but with a question mark in the bottom right corner.....

  Thank you James. I have previously spent some time looking through the CO articles you suggest but with no luck. However a fellow contributor has just solved an issue I had with locked catalogs - this may have some bearing on the question mark problem. Let me have a further look and see if there is an answer - I'll get back to you on this...
