Uniform Gray

Multiple shots all with a slightly different gray background.

What ways can I use to 

a) make uniform gray on one portrait?

b) make all the shots in a series the same gray?

  Use colour readouts in RGB and fine-tune WB and Exposure/Brightness to get similar values? Or maybe you can use Normalize tool (if doesn't have much of similar grey shade in different parts of image).

  In some cases using the Color Editors 'skin tone' tab, adjusting with the uniformity sliders can also work.
