Introduced in Capture One 16.5.0, the Match Look tool lets you transfer the look of reference images to other photos in just a few seconds using AI. It uses existing Capture One tools to replicate the look of the reference with a single click, so you can always check how these tools were used to achieve the desired look.
The Match Look tool supports Custom Presets and Keyboard Shortcuts (Set Match Look Reference, Apply Match Look). Presets apply the Match Look adjustments to each image individually and include the reference image, selected adjustments, and Impact level.

How to Use Match Look Tool
Set a reference image by choosing an image in the Browser and clicking Use Selected Variant or drag images from macOS Finder, Windows File Explorer, or the Capture One Browser directly onto the Match Look tool.
Use multiple references to create a weighted average of their looks. Each target image will be compared to the different reference images and their similarity will determine how much each reference image will impact the look. This means that a combined reference of portraits of people, landscapes with mountains etc. will be weighed differently if applied to a portrait or a landscape.
Click Apply to match the look of the selected images to the reference image.
The adjustments used by Match Look are split into four main groups, where each group or individual adjustment can be toggled on or off before applying the look:
- Normalize: Adjusts Exposure and White Balance.
- Light & Contrast: Includes Contrast, Brightness, Highlights and Shadows, Whites and Blacks, Levels (input), and Luma Curve.
- Color Adjust: Adjusts Saturation, Basic Color Editor, and Black & White.
- Color Tone: Includes Color Balance (Master), Color Balance (S, M, H), and Color Channel Curves.
Apply as new Layer applies the Match Look adjustments to a new filled layer, except for Black & White.
The Impact slider controls the strength of the applied look. The scale ranges from 40% to 125%. Adjustments in the Normalize group (Exposure and White Balance) are not affected by the Impact slider, ensuring that these settings remain consistent.
Ensure look consistency when batch applying, available from the three-dot options menu, locks certain adjustments to prevent fluctuations. Experiment with this option for better results.
