If you're experiencing crashes when using Capture Pilot on macOS, the issue may be related to missing Network permissions for the Capture One application. Starting with recent versions of macOS, apps must be explicitly granted permission to access the Local Network, which Capture Pilot relies on to function properly.
Cause
macOS restricts local network access by default. If Capture One does not have permission to access the local network, it cannot communicate with the Capture Pilot app on your device, which can result in unexpected crashes or connection failures.
Solution
To resolve this, enable local network access for Capture One in your Mac's system settings:
- Close Capture One completely.
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences, depending on your macOS version).
- Navigate to Privacy & Security > Local Network.
- Find Capture One in the list and toggle the switch to ON.
- Reopen Capture One and try using Capture Pilot again.
Still Having Issues?
If Capture Pilot continues to crash or fails to connect, make sure:
- Both your computer and mobile device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Your macOS and Capture One are updated to the latest version.
- No firewall or VPN software is blocking local traffic.
