I was allowed to *download* the update to 16.2 from 16.1, but cannot use it, nor get back to 16.1
This morning I saw that there was a new version Capture One pro 16.2. I currently have a 16.1 perpetual license. (I thought 16.2 going from 16.1 was a minor upgrade that I would still be entitled to even with a perpetual license. Anyway, that is what I was led to believe when I acquired the perpetual licence on Feb 15 of this year.)
Regardless, after allowing me to download the 16.2 upgrade, I get error message, "This License Not valid for this version" (or something to that effect) message. OK, so now what? I can do no work using Capture One. I have photos that I am very keen on processing.
Why was the license validation not performed *first* before allowing the update?
I need explicit advice on how to get back to using 16.1, the version for which my license is valid. I hate to roll back my computer to its previous backup version several days and lots of work ago.

I think there is no need to rollback your system.
Try: deinstall 16.2, download 16.1 and install again.

EDIT: btw, Feb 15 might have been one day too late:

Welcome to C1's New License model wherein a dot release (now considered a feature release) is not covered by your perpetual license but a dot-dot release is because it's classified as a service release (e.g.16.1.0 to 16.1.3).
I posted a minor rant about this not long ago. Even though I understood the terms when I purchased, that does not mean I am obligated to like them.

Thanks for responding to my post. The matter has been resolved. Capture One support provided the requisite support and I am satisfied. I'm working on photos again.

Good to hear. Can you briefly describe the solution?

Hi Robin Palmer
It would be nice if you take a minute or two to tell us how it was resolved. We too spent time trying to help.

Hi BeO,
Remember when they announced their new licensing model, *if you had purchased your perp. license less than a year ago (I had), you had until midnight February 14th of this year to update your perpetual license for $179 and still receive updates through September for that version (C1 Pro 23)?
Late on February 13th I had written support a question re. their new policies and wanted clarification before I ponied up the $179 for C1 Pro 23. Their response was not forthcoming but finally arrived on the 14th. Their response was clarifying and so I went ahead with the deal. However, due to some tardiness on their part in getting back to me (they had prematurely closed my query) and my failure to see their response in time, my transaction did not clear until the 15th ... *just after* the deadline to take advantage.
So, having some sympathy for my plight and (I'm sure) also to avoid a disgruntled customer and time spent helping me get back to my original state before i attempted the upgrade, they upgraded my license *for this update only*. So, I was able to use 16.2 after all. **Note**: my circumstances were extenuating, and that's why they were generous and offered me that solution. In other words, if another "minor" update occurs, like 16.3, before September, I'll *not* be eligible for it.
Hope that's clear.
