Leica Q2 Raw Crop Support
What problem do you see this solving?
Leica Q2 has in camera crop, which is stored in the EXIF data. When reading Q2 files in Lightroom, Adobe recognizes the crop and automatically applies on import. Capture One ignores the crop. This is inconvenient because the photos were composed with the crop in mind.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Always
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
Yes, a Capture One user developed an Apple script which read the EXIF and applies the correct crop. This is great, but you have run this manually. It would be great if Capture One supported this automatically, like Lightroom.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Yes

Hi SFA,
This is a fixed lens camera, so the lens correction is tightly integrated. I'm a Capture One user, so I haven't spent much time looking at results in Lightroom, but as I understand it, yes the corrected RAWs will match what you see in the camera.
There's two main points, exposure and composition. For exposure, when you use the crop modes, the Q2 only meters in the cropped area. So this would automatically extend to the RAW. For composition, lens correction is applied to the full 28mm image (you always get full 28mm on RAW). The crop is then applied non-destructively to the lens corrected image. The crop is simply a bounding box in the EXIF data, which is provided by the camera.
What's nice about Lightroom is that you automatically see the image exactly as you composed it. You don't have to remember which pictures had a crop or which were full 28mm.

Hey Cody Wortham! Since a similar request has already been made and has more upvotes (Leica Q/Q2/Q3 crop modes), I will now archive this one as a duplicate. Please be sure to upvote the other post!
