Does negative clarity not do this? Straight up asking.

Also, when suggesting improvements, fill out the form. There’s info Capture One needs that’s not provided above.

In the meantime or if your request is not met, you can increase the effect of the Clarity tool by applying it in additional layers with the same mask.
Also, select Classic method (default is Natural)

Or use the heal or clone tool to obscure the plates.

oh yeh, forgot about that - I guess multiple layers for numbers plates wouldn't be practical :-)
But another idea is to just use the magic brush to mask the plates and turn the exposure right down

Boris Tomsic- and another thing you can do, if you don't want the number plate to go very dark, is that you can make it a mid grey by masking it and then using the curve tool to have a straight line horizontal "curve". The higher up the graph it sits, the lighter the shade of grey, and perhaps you can desaturate too. It works better with an RGB curve than a Luma curve.

Hey Gilbert Park, this post is a duplicate of "blur brush" or simply negative sharpening value needed.
