Installation
Hallo,

Hello,
I am currently using Capture One 20 (for Sony). I only work with sessions no catalog. Now I bought a new camera with the new software Capture One 23 Pro. How do I proceed now? Do I have to uninstall the Capture One 20 and download the new Capture One 23 Pro through my existing account? Or can I use my Capture One 20 (for Sony) to update to Capture One 23 Pro??? Will my edited images remain unchanged in the sessions if I have to reinstall Capture One 23 Pro???
Thanks a lot in advance!

I cannot definitely answer your question regarding your C1 account but I usuallly you can use your existing account for different licenses, it should not be a problem. You can reach support via the link above "request support" if need be.
Did you get a license key with your purchase from the camera dealer?
Assuming you have a backup of your sessions, you can download C1, install it, activate it with your license key.
There is no difference between the trial version and a "normal" version (for download and install), it is the license key which you enter that matters.
And the exact version matters too in case it is a perpetual license. If you have a license for 16.2 you cannot use this license for 16.3 which is the current version as of yesterday. (16 means v23).
Previous version download:
https://www.captureone.com/en/account/download/previousOr is it a 1year free subscription license? Then download the latest version.
It should not be a problem to install both versions (but put v23 in a new directory), to keep v20 a few weeks and deinstall v20 later, but the official recommendation is to deinstall before the new install.
Your edited images will remain unchanged but your sessions will be updated if you open them with the new version, which means you cannot edit them with v20 anymore.

Is that on a Mac? I don't think any of us buy Capture One from the App Store - it isn't sold there. This is possibly the result of a MacOS setting that you need to change.
Try going into System Settings to allow apps that are not from the App Store. If this setting says App Store, change it to App Store and Known Developers.
