Tehtering Sony A7C II fails - "Camera is not open"
I am trying to tether my Sony A7C II camera to the new Capture One Pro 16.
The camera is listedin the Camera selection ( None, Sony A7C II) but when I click on the Sony, C1 is busy some time and then reports (101#107) General error: the resource is not open. - Camera is not open
This is not really suprising as Sonys own Tethering Software needs to have the user and password data entered from the camera once to function.
The camera also displays "to use the PC remote function, access authentification from the PC isrequired".
But Capture One does not allow to enter such data?
Is this really the first Sony Fullframe Camera to request this? Or is there abug in C1?
I am happy for any kind of help :-)
Best regards,
Christian

I may be remembering wrong, but I have an idea that with some Sony cameras, the Sony software and Capture One can conflict, and it may be necessary to uninstall the Sony software. Don't take my word for it, but you might like to Goggle that and see what you can find out.

EDIT: I found this article. It's not very recent, but it refers to the possibility of having to uninstall Imaging Edge.

I just noticed that current C16.3 does NOT support Sony A7C II at all. The raw/arw-files are not displayed in the C1 browser. Maybe it is a side effect of the mandatory authentication for tehtering this camera requires that support is delayed, maybe Phase One was too busy with the new AI masking feature, maybe they want to pack it into C24. Frustrated.

Hi Christian Sinner - Phase One are not involved. Capture One has been a separate company from Phase One for some time now.

Are they full raw files or the compressed ones?
