Lens support Tamron and Samyang

Hello Jack-W,

I can not find this info online hence I'll post the question:

I saw your list on supported lenses. I have an older perpetual license but need to upgrade för a new Sony camera. In the meantime I have also purchased new lences which leads me to my question:

Do I understand correct that neither the  Tamron 28-200/2,8-5,6, Samyang 75/2,8 or Samyang 18/2,8 for Sony FE are supported? If so and as these are my most used lences, would you recommend me to move back to Lightroom or will this be covered in the near future?

I am considering a new perpetual license, will new lens profiles be added to the perpetual license or not?

    Hi Emil – If the lenses are not listed, then they do not contain a profile that has been made by us. However, that doesn't mean that you cannot use images that have been captured using lenses that do not contain a lens profile. You can use generic corrections followed by manual adjustments, and then save the settings as a Preset which can be used upon import.

    A manufacturer profile (where applicable) may also be available, which will provide lens corrections based on the manufacturers specifications.

    I can't say whether we will provide a lens profile in a future release, but please let us know over in the Improve Capture One topic.

    New lens profiles may be added to service releases, e.g. 16.2.3 but there is no guarantee that support will come for a specific lens or camera within the timeframe you are entitled to updates with your perpetual license.

    Hi Jack-W, thanks for your quick response! I am afraid I can't seem to find any manufacturers' lens profiles from Tamron och Samyang. Ok, I guess C1 is more of a professionals tool for more pro lenses, I'll look into your product again in a few years.

    Emil I'd give the 30 day trial a whirl and see how you get on with generic lens corrections + user presets.

    Maybe there's somebody in here who has a preset for the lenses you've mentioned, that they can share with you?

    Failing that, see you whenever you decide to make the jump over to us :)

    Thanks! yes I was surprised there is no section in here where user profiles are shared. I will be trying out the trial for a bit.
