Convert catalog to session

Hi, I have a problem, I created a catalog with mixed raw photos in DNG and NEF format to which I made various adjustments also on variants of the files. Now I work no longer with catalogs but with sessions. I need to transform the catalog into a session without losing all the adjustments on the images.
I tried to export as EIP but putroppo all NEF files (nikon) which are many cannot be converted to EIP. How can I do that?

    You went "File" > "Export Images" > "Originals" and then ticked the "Pack as EIP" checkbox in the Options panel?

    If this is a one-shot thing, I'd move all of the files to be inside the C1 catalog (i.e. make it a managed catalog) and leave it alone. Would this work for you? Or, if you want to make one or more sessions, try exporting the original files with adjustments into a folder and then import the folder's contents into a new session. The export will create a folder containing the adjustments files, and C1 knows what to do with them when you import into a new catalog/session.

    You will find that you can't export DNG files as EIP, though you should be OK with NEF files.

    Odd, another case of DNG files not being treated as first class citizens in Capture One.  I don't understand why they don't get the same treatment as RAW files in this regard?  So, I guess there's just a general warning in using DNG files with Capture One, that some features may not work with them even though you can import them and edit them.

    JF, I don't know whether it's a choice not to be able to pack DNGs as an EIP, or whether it's because of some technical limitation.

    You don’t need to use EIP. Create a session, open your catalog, select all the images you want to move, and export originals. Check the box to include adjustments. In the destination folder chooser navigate to your session’s Capture folder. Then export. Once you’ve verified the files are working in the session you can delete them from the catalog.

    Hello JF. There are two different profiles named JF so I hope I got the right one to tag you.
    I agree there should not be any difference for DNG's to be packed as EIP considering that EIP in principle are ZIP files, it should be independent from the RAW attached to it. I will forward this discussion to our team and also you can visit our Improve Capture One page and upvote an existing similar request or create a new one if there isn't any.
