Structure vs sharpening ?

I've used LR for a while but was never quite happy with performance. As a Sony user, I got the free version of C1 and liked it so much I've immediately upgraded to Pro.

One of the tools new to me is Structure. Can someone explain to me the best uses for this tool ? Basically, how is it different from Clarity and Sharpness ? Would it be a better tool for portraits than say sharpness ?

    I think this is probably a personal decision which may vary from image to image.

    Then there is this C1 official video which covers clarity and should therefore mention structure but I must confess it is a while since I watched it so I can't recall what is said.
