    I second that!

It's always happening, when I switch layers and get back to the layer with the original changes.

Thanks to your post, I just saw, that I can go back to the old status by pressing cmd+z! Thanks for that. Until now, I redid all my work....

For clarity of understanding ... does "go back later" mean that the image was edited earlier in the work session or that iw eas edited some time ago using an earlier release or even an earlier version of C1?

    Hi Grant,

in my case it means, that I toggle back and forth between layers of a single image. Once I get back to the layer I made the adjustment on, all settings in the skin tone adjusment are reset.

It also happens when I copy an adjustment to another image. Then, in some cases, it is not even nessesary to switch layers, but it is enough to go to another image and come back.

The catalogue was created last week with capture one 20.0

    Thanks for your quick support.

    Sebastian

Hi Grant.  Image was edited with the latest release during the same work session. I'm finishing edit one image and start editing the next one. Then I go back to the previous image, for example, to copy the settings. And at the Color Editor panel I can't see any changes - it's totally inactive. Then I click on the layer where skin tone adjustments were done and.... all my adjustments on this layer immediately disappear.

And adding to this: When you change layers, you can actually see the preview file change back into its original state.

    Hi Sebastian,

What kind of raw files are you editing when you have this problem? I discover in the earlier post here that person have the same bug with Fujifilm files. I'm also editing RAF files. Trying to figure out if it's a problem with the Fujifilm file format or it's a global thing...

    Hi Natasha,

I am working with Leica DNGs. So probably a global thing.. or at least DNG and RAF specific...

Well I have checked with creating and adjustment layer and apply the Skin Tone editor to a colour within it AND using the selector to create a colour selected mask area and then using the Skin Tone editor on that mask and so far I have not been ablt to reproduce the problem.

I have not checked for copying a layer but since I can't get anything to be an issue at all AND I'm running Windows not Mac I think I would be likely to waste my time. Also I use sessions and I am guessing these reports might be coming from Catalog sources?

Sounds like it is a Mac centric problem so far so it may be a question of discovering whether any Mac users DO NOT have the problem and then comparing configurations, etc, to see if any clues appear.

Meanwhile it might be worth Verifying the Catalog (or Session) just in case something odd has happened to the internal connections at some point.

    Hi Grant,

thanks for checking out our problem.

I just tried with sessions and it is still the same. The layer disappears. As I created a new session for my test, we can rule out a catalogue upgrade issue as well.

I do agree, if you don't have the problem on WIN, it might be a Mac issue. I just saw some other people having the same problems in other posts, so let's hope Phase One addresses this issue fast and prepares a fix!

    Figers crossed...

Hi Grant, thanks for your time and efforts.

It really looks like Mac problem. I haven't checked any other threads but in this particular Mac related thread of the forum there are many other posts reporting the same problem.

Yesterday I submitted the request to the technical support and they contacted me back.

Hope they solve this problem soon.

I strongly encourage all users who find this sort of problem to contact the Support Team for a personal Support Case as Natasha has done.

Interestingly anyone who has watched Paul Reiffer's most recent webinar (22 May 2020) may have seen his advice at the very end of the broadcast to do just that  - an opinion that was also supported by David Grover who was also a presenter on the stream.

Some things can be identified and resolved on a user to user basis based on experiences of others  - so long as someone has a known good solution.

However is should be a better option overall to contact a support centre that has much wider access to knowledge and technical backup. Making that knowledge more readily available -  as seems to be an objective with the Zen software implementation - should mean that, over time, common solutions are more readily investigated and solved based on previously encountered problems with diagnosis steps and probable solutions published so that people have a self-help option available on-line, on-demand.

The theory is that such things work best and answer the most questions by being fully utilised. So the first thing to do is to encourage people to use them!

(Also the Support system search to see if the problem has been described before and possibly already has a solution.)

As a workaround I've found that switching the Colour Editor tool to the Basic tab before leaving the image or the layer doesn't result in the edits made previously in the Advanced tab or the Skin Tone tab being deleted.

Hope this works for you until the problem gets fixed.

Downgraded to 13.0 fixed it for me. Will wait for 13.2

John thank you so much for the hint! I tried and it works.

I also tried to downgrade to 13.0. But I already upgraded my catalogue for the new version and now I can't open it in the previous version of C1 ((

I'm agree with Grant /SFA/ that it would be very useful if everyone submit a request to the support team to let them know that it's a general problem and need to be resolved asap.

Releasing software with bugs like this is freeware amateur hour. Imagine spending $100k on their equip and software-and putting up with basic layer issues like this-having the same issue and thought I was just losing my mind in this covid hell

I have the same Issue with 13.1, in 13.0 i had no problem. I'm working with Canon 5DS R raw files.

Same here with 13.1 and Nikon D700 raw files. Any adjustments done with advanced color editor on a layer vanish.

    Good Afternoon everyone,

I have just downloaded version 13.1.1 and the error with the Advanced Colour Edits on a layer resetting has been corrected according to the release notes, along with numerous other fixes.

I have tested 13.1.1 on my images and can no longer manage to create the error, so it seems fixed to me.

Hope it's fixed the error for you too.

    John

I had the same problem in 13.1 on my Mac.  Reported the problem.  Had to downgrade to 13.0 and had a booger of a time doing that, till someone on this forum helped me!

Upgraded to 13.1.1 yesterday and can confirm what John Reynolds is saying...problem appears to be fixed :-)
