    No.
However, the program is now working as advertised on my Win 64 system.
I feel it is even a bit faster when rendering the media.

My current (new) work flow is to import all my new photos and render under Windows. After I rate them, I send the rated ones to CO for processing, and only after processing I render again, but with the CO engine. So far, so good.

Is this a free upgrade from 1.3 or paid?

From my point of view there are no really improvements - besides some kinky features and the usage of new file formats supported.
What really is a "dis-improvemnet" is the treating of metadata and it's synchronisation to files - doesn't really work for users using MP as the primary step in workflows while importing pictures to a catalogue, renaming pictures, applying metadata etc.

Skipped version 1.4 and went back to 1.32, which is more buggy and unstable but does renaming, metadata w/o flaws.

It is still 32bit and the problems with the mediaImporters are not resolved, but seemingly just been hidden to be displayed with analytic tools.

    saludos redondos -

Can you explain the issue here? I didn't think they changed behavior here, I thought all they did was was separate the export and import annotations into separate menu items. (That's based on my reading of the release notes, not actually trying it.)

Personally, I have had no problem in MP 1.4 with metadata. I use sidecar files and the initial writing and export/import seem to work fine. However, I have not used MP for file renaming, so I can't comment on that.

Jim sometimes it works and occasionally it does not, take today I tried to export keywords to twenty jpeg image and it just would not embed them to IPTC. I only noticed because I opened them up in another dam program, so I went back and tried again, again no go,so I ended up embedding them with the program I had checked them in.

Now this makes me wonder how many more have failed that I did not notice and do I really want to keep checking them in another program and if I have to keyword in another program to be sure than why do I need MP, and with all the new bugs introduced with this latest version I'm really beginning to lose faith in it and may just use it for exporting images to sessions after doing the dam work in another program.

    ....

You make a good point - I have not checked all the photos I have key-worded.

The ones I send to CO 7 have been ok; but I don't send them all.
And I haven't looked at large batches of them with Lightroom, which is really my only other DAM at this point.
I'll have to take some time today and look at the the last couple of batches of photos with LR.

edit -- why do I feel like a beta tester on a product I've fully paid for??

Jim talking of feeling like a unpaid beta tester, in case you missed my post in the other thread a problem that was fixed in the first update of MP has now been re-introduced in this version. If you move raw files from one folder to another with MP the xmp side car files are left behind in the original folder and not moved with the files! This means if you do not or forget to regenerate them at the new location you could lose them.

Does the word incompetent come to mind, I have not reported it as I am just about done with testing this product for them. 😡

Paul, I did see your other note. I generally don't do this, but I will keep an eye open if I do.

Re new added keywords - I just checked 4 of my recent shoots (~10, ~100, ~400, ~100 raw photos). I added a number of key words to each group at different times. I had exported these to sidecar files for 3 shoots. Lightroom read them "all" (though I looked at a random selection of most of the ones from the larger shoots, not all). Then I exported the ones from the last one, re-synch'd LR, and saw that LR again read them "all".
I am comfortable that MP 1.4 is handling my keywords properly with sidecar files; though I am not moving things via MP.

I tried this too, and export seemed to work. I don't have Lightroom, but under the Advanced tab of the File Info panel in Photoshop, I see all my hierarchical keywords under "Schema (http://ns.adobe.com/lightroom/1.0/)" and "lightroom:hierarchicalSubject (bag container)". If this is correct, I assume it's working.
