OS X 10.11 El Capitan
With the release of El Capitan tomorrow, I was wondering if Phase has offered any official word on whether or not Capture One will be fully supported off the bat? Obviously, I won't be upgrading to El Capitan for at least a couple weeks after release or maybe even a .1 version to root out any other compatibility issues, but I skipped Yosemite and am still running Mavericks on all of my machines so I'd like to get El Capitan sooner rather than later. I didn't ever install Yosemite because I wasn't a huge fan of the new UI and I was concerned about the "iOSification" of OS X, but I'm pretty excited about some of the new features in El Capitan so I'm willing to overlook those concerns and get with the times!

Only a few days since Apple's first corrective patch release attempt though and it's that followup release that always seems to be a better starting point for releasing patches to applications if any are still required.0 -

It's possible to live in Yosemite one month more!

It looks as though the reply I posted earlier today never got there so I am redoing it.
Further to my two earlier posts, I tried downloading a new driver for my Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 Graphics card from the Nvidia website but it did not work. It would not install and said it was incompatible with El Capitan. However I then found a website called Macvidcards which had what appears to be a newer version: 10.11.1 (15B42) 346.03.03f01.
Capture One 8 now works perfectly with Open CL on Auto!
An Nvidia Driver Manager appeared in my menu bar. It gives me the choice of the Nvidia driver or the OS X default driver and a means to check for updates. I have not tried switching in case the problem recurs.
But, for the moment at least, it looks as if the problem is solved.0 -

We have a few more 10.11 issues we found during testing, that need fixing. Please be patient, we will release it soon.
In the mean time, there are plenty of work-arounds listed in this thread.0 -

Thank you very much. Finally, OpenCL is working here with C1.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB on an iMac (27-inch, end 2012), 3,4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM & El Capitan 10.11.1 (15B42). 😎0 -
just out of curiosity: is PhaseOne testing the stability and performance of the nvidia webdriver with C1? I would be very interested to know, if there are pros or cons in using those drivers. Obviously at the moment the newer driver works with OpenCL and the built-in one does not. 0 -
According to tests of a German newspaper
http://www.heise.de/mac-and-i/meldung/i ... 54496.html
El Capitan is supporting 10 bit color. Is C1P going to support this in 8.x or do we have to wait for 9?0 -
Blame Apple. They release, each years, compatibility breaking OS... This is really not professional.
