Is it safe to use Open CL now?
I'm using a mid 2010 MacBook Pro with updated logic board and video card, 2.66 Intel i7, 8GB RAM and iOS 10.9.2.
I remember a C1 blog post or something saying to set Open CL to never/never. I just downloaded v 7.2.2., wondered if it's beneficial to turn it on by now or not.
I tried to search this topic but too many results about open CL.
Thanks,
Matt

That post would have been on the topic of unsupported Graphics Cards.
If your Graphic Card is supported, you should be using OpenCL.0 -
I would give it a try. You could start with one setting at a time. A lot of work has been done in the mean time. I suggest you restart CO7 after changing the OpenCL preference. 0 -
I use CO 7.2.2 with Open CL on an 27" Imac mid 2011 (i5, 32GB) and on a MBP Retina OSX 10.9.3 (i7, 16GB): I do not have any problem since quite a long time. I had some problem in the past, likely attributable to the use of Open CL, but was long time ago with older graphic drivers and older CO versions. 0 -
I had some problem with the previews in some settings (curves in particular) with 7.2.1 and 7.2.2 : the displays is blurred while the mouse is on the preset menu. I disabled Open CL for display (but keep it for processing) and have no more issue since then (iMac 27" i5 mid 2012, 10.9.2, 16Go RAM).

I'll search unsupported graphics cards and see if mine's on the list. Thanks for the input. 0
