Storing metadata in RAW files

Hi,

I am struggling a bit with metadata in Capture One. When updating the metadata (IPTC & keywords) in C1P, they do not appear in other image cataloguing images (e.g. ViewNX2). I understand that C1P works as a database so I guess I have to "submit" the metadata to force it to be saved inside the RAW file. How can I do that ? (and I do not want a sidecar XMP file)

  Sidecar files are the only available option.

  Sidecar files files are the only option, as we have a policy of not touching the raw-files.

  Thank you Ario, Christian, for your answers. I will have to figure out the best approach for my needs - and certainly come back to this forum for some advice.
