Are the videos on Phase One's website about setting the preferences still around (how do I get to them?)

I only ever remember a video tutorial about EM2/MP preferences, and about integration with CaptureOne. The MediaPro versions of those are still online, on the tutorial page of MediaPro
    http://www.phaseone.com/en/Software/Med ... rials.aspx

You need to expand the section "Using MediaPro" at the bottom of the page.

, or does someone have a 'good setup' for a nikon user. Yes I have the Nikon NEF Codex loaded, and Yes, I have the Adobe DND codex loaded. What else should I have?

I don't think there was any tutorial (neither video nor text) online on the PhaseOne page about setting up the system or such additional software.

Currently I'm getting too many of the famed "BSOD' that all microsoft users are familiar with. (Blue Screen Of Death). I just weant to be sure I'm set up in the best config.

I doubt very much that you can do anything about such crashes by configuring MediaPro. A bug or wrong preference in MediaPro could lead to a crash of MediaPro itself.
For a Windows BSOD, I'd strongly suspect faulty hardware or driver, or less likely, a damaged Windows installation.
And no, nowadays a BSOD should not be a familiar sight for windows users, if they have working and supported hardware.

    Thanks,
At one time I remember hearing that Peter Krogh had done a video with Media Pro as a pard as his approach to the DAM solution.

FYI, The BSOD's are occurring when I make a lot of changes to 'blocks' of metadata of files then do a Action>>Symc Annotation on the block of files.

Is there a way to set the annotations so that changes in metadata is alweays written backk to the file wthout having to manually execute it? That causes the majotity of my BSOD's...........

PhaseOne does have a chanell on youtube:
This video on 'setting Phase One Media Pro preferences' maybe is interesting? ()

    Peter Krogh's chanell on vimeo:

On PhotoMetaData.org you can find some (also video) tutorials about Expression Media (the predecessor of Media Pro) , check out the setup section:

The different videos on PhaseOne website also cover the preferences. They might be in spread over more than one, But I viewed them recently, and I remember seeing him configure MPro. Although he is using a MAC, and I don't know how some preferences would differ with file types and maybe other options. For instance he touches on how there is a handy info bar on the bottom of the screen giving you mem usage info etc. On Win I don't see it.

I have not had a BSOD using win7 64bit since I swapped SSD drives. I had patriot Torq drives crash a few times and I got rid of them. Have not had a issue since the release of Win7 as I skipped Vista and dove right into 7, and it is a very solid OS. Not needed to reboot much at all, besides installs and some updates.

You can hit the + button under the screen on the right side. That reveils the 'handy info bar' (also on Win):

    Thanks Roelof,
But that only shows when the folder is being Updated, and haven't seen it show anything else so far. not when i select a file or group of files. It only looks like it allows for update status or to kill the update. Not the same as what Peter talks about in the tut.

    I found it...

If you select Best appearance vs what I had/Best performance in the Explorer folder options, the info bar shows up. You can also do custom options, and see which is giving you that display.

Have just had a frustrating time following the instructions in the new set up instruction video . The problem is that the Capture One Pro Preferences/general/media pro panel shown in the video bears no resemblance to to what I see on my Windows 7 machine running Capture One Pro version 6.3, is the MAC version on which the video is based really different? The drop downs on my machine are entitled "For Catalog Sets" and "Include Subfolders Dialog" while in the video they are just untitled drop downs. Anyone any idea what the equivalent settings in Windows are to those given in the video for the MAC are?
I am beginning to see why I took Media Pro off my machine in disgust the first time I tried it. Having received an e-mail from Phase One recently promoting the videos on Capture One/Media Pro workflow I thought I would give it a try again ...ha...no better than before ☹️
