Just use the angles (open triangles) in front of folder names to hide or reveal sub-folders as required.

Click on a "down facing"-angle to collapse a subtree and on a "right facing"-angle to expand a subtree. Alternatively, double-click on a folder name to toggle its collapsed/expanded status.

Ha ha. Thanks, I would have sworn I tried that in the past but I must be mistaken. Is there a way to open or close all folders at once? I ask because *all* of mine were open and I know I wouldn't have done that intentionally.

I second this question. I have encountered a glitch where I either set a favorite or capture folder with my hot key, and all folders/subfolders expand. This is at random and hard to repeat so I haven't been able to trouble shoot...
