Capture One performance compared to Lightroom CC 2015
Has anyone else played with the new Lightroom CC 2015? The first thing I noticed was that it was like getting a brand new computer! They should call it Lightning CC 2015 đ The performance while making adjustments (on a native 4K display) is stunning. It's so smooth and responsive. It really makes C1 seem like a dog in comparison. Very tempting to switch just for the performance.
Phase One: you really need to look at optimizing performance... whatever you are doing is clearly not best-practices! Apple Aperture and Photos is also lightning quick compared to C1. In fact, of all the RAW editing apps I've looked at, C1 is among the worst in performance.
ps. I use a 2013 Mac Pro, 6-Core, 32GB, D500s, with catalog on the internal 1TB SSD.

Not being a Mac user it all looks a bit messy to me. Most people seem to have first seen the problems after an OS upgrade but the solutions reported seem to centre on the plist for which ever application is showing the extremely high %.
Most users were also reporting high temperatures - but not all of them.
Pretty sure Dr Google is just going to get in the way with this one. đ
Load isn't high, and 125% CPU is likely not *that* high either, depending how many cores the CPU has.
Could it be regenerating previews/thumbnails (perhaps in error)?0 -

this is the hack ! C1 is continuelly regenarating the thumbnails on the background , bad and bad .
Tip from mee to schear it for all đĄ
Apple opened the Gate for third party SSD Drives in OS X 10.10.4 đ
this function called Trim force which makes your System moor faster đĄ how to activate it in Terminal with bay using only the " root" sudo trimforce.... read moor about this at google " trim force OS X 10.10.4".
i still beleve that C1 is involved for the slowlly preformence under OSX 100 -

Normally I would agree with you but the underlying message behind this one across several reported applications (I only scanned page one of the results and read some of the posts) seemed to be common. No matter what the application there was a similar "looping on startup" situation that seemed most often to be resolved by "fixing something" to do with plists.
The general suggestion seemed to be that the application was unable to start up correctly and was constantly repeating its attempts to apply the required settings.
That would fit with the comment above (VirtualRain?) about having the problem and then not the problem after restarting. But then the problem recurring again sometimes .... but not always.
So re-starting is not an always reliable permanent fix but a way around the problem - perhaps only for some. The more permanent fix may be related to considering the experiences people had with other applications and then assessing how something similar could be checked for errors within the C1 start up process.
If the problem is not persistent from one start to the next (as noted above) and does not affect all users all of the time (and is not unique across the range of software applications available) then it's a bit difficult to conclude that it is something that Phase have to fix. There may be a way of including some code that sorts out problems when the code provided by the operating system fails to work successfully but double guessing what to do and where is not likely to be an efficient exercise unless people can provide their local machine status feedback so that any common failure patterns can be identified.
In other words - Support Cases required.

I experience the same issue sometimes ... the >100% CPU and I also had memory leaks. I posted about the memory leaks before. No response so I thought it was just me. âšī¸

I'm glad I'm not the only one, but if there's one thing that's clear to me, it's that posting here will only occasionally help you find misery amongst company (in the midst of plenty of people that think C1 can't possibly have issues). File a support ticket if you want any hope of getting these issues addressed.0
