I too am very frustrated with this delay for a related reason. The only program that Phase One makes that supports RAW files from the new Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III is the woefully inadequate Capture One 4 LE. This program is lacking MANY key functions compared to Capture One Pro. I realize that limited resources that Phase One has in comparison to clunky Adobe Bridge will cause inevitable delays. I HIGHLY recommend that, until Phase One is able to launch Capture One Pro version 4, they take the simple step of enabling processing of Canon's EOS 1 Ds Mark III RAW files. This is the best 35mm digital camera in the world and I expect to be able to process images from it on the best program in the world - and very soon, please. Having to learn to use a new, scaled down, bug laden Capture One Version 4 in the interim is really wasting a lot of my valuable, professional time.

I read elsewhere in another posting from Phase One support staff on this forum that CO 3.7.8 Pro is due to arrive shortly with proper 1Ds Mark III support. I believe that PO understands the in-between state of there Pro users. So there is hope.

    Hello,

One of the main differences between CO 3.7.x and CO4 is that 4 is built in separate modules. The great benefit to this is that we can update features much faster by updating a module, not the entire program. For instance the interface would be one module, the process core another, and with the pro version tethered support would be another one. When it comes to development it makes sense for us to start with the processing core as it is the heart of the software. Therefore it also made sense for us to release it as the current version of 4.0 rather than hold off for the rest of the Pro features to be developed.

R & D is hard at work to get 3.7.8 out the door as we do understand that we are in a transitional period and do not wish to leave our customers out in the cold. Yes developing 2 different software platforms simultaneously can and has caused delays, but once we are over the hump and have completed the transition to 4, you can expect much much faster development and updates.
