Portrait pro studio
I am using portrait pro studio as an external editor. When I edit using this program and then save as a tiff it is saved as a variant in co however the edits are not there

Most probably you see the file created by CO and exported to your external editor. You should make it sure that your external editor actually save the edited image with the same extension of the file exported by CO and in the same folder, so to overwrite the originally exported file. 0 -
Not sure what you mean. Sorry but you need to make it easier for me to understand 0 -
I will try my best.
When you start the procedure to edit with an external editor CO first create as a variant a rendered file (usually a TIFF file) which is automatically imported in your catalog and visible beside the raw file, this file is then opened in your external editor and when you have finished with the editing it must be saved in the same folder where the original raw file is and with the very same extension (.tif) which was used by CO when creating the TIFF file to be exported, only in this way the file edited in your external editor can overwrite the variant created by CO which had originally only the editing made inside CO.0 -
In case the Edit with... command does not work properly with your external editor, just export or process the original image with CO8 adjustments into a JPEG or TIFF. Next, open, edit, and save it with your external editor. The processed image will not be included in your catalog when you work this way. 0
