    Answer from Support:

Canon G12 RAW files will be most likly be supported in the next update, as it was just released in September and is just shipping now. Although I'm not sure when this update will be, please keep checking back. You can see a list of the supported files in the 'Release Notes' section under the 'Help' menu in C1.

    Regards,
    Phase One Support Team

hopefully the update is coming soon ... 😎

May I ask this question? Exactly what is involved with the work required, and the time involved, to provide an update for a new camera's RAW files, such as the Canon G12? Do you set a priority of one camera update over another? I ask this question because your response here regarding the Canon G12 seems much more certain and quick, verses a rather vague response I have received previously regarding my support case for an Olympus E-5 RAW update (which is my particular new camera).

We (Phase One) physically need to have the camera in our hands to even take the first steps in supporting it. We don't like to release support for a system that we haven't tested first hand. As such, once a camera has enough people asking for support and we place an order for a unit, it comes in and we start to work at supporting the file format and building custom profiles. So, once we get a G12 (or one is loaned to us) we can start to build support for it and introduce said support in the next update.

I fear with the release of CO 6, this is the kiss of death for Canon G12 support in version 5x.

I have Pro 5.1. When support is avalable for the G12 will I be able to use it in this version?

It's in the works, please be patient.
Since Capture One 5 is no longer being developed it will be available in an update to Capture One 6 only. ☚ī¸

Altough I understand a G12 is not a 1Ds MkIII and thus not top priority to be supported by software aimed mainly at professionals, I guess there are a lot of other professionals like me having a "small-on-the-road-photon-grabber" like the G12.

So plz speed up and make G12 supported!!

I suppose referring to my previous posts would fall on deaf ears. The support for these files is now available as promised. Remember, patience is a virtue.

That only solves the problem if you're willing to pay extra to upgrade to Capture One 6.

Thank god for ADOBE DNG converter!

i hope capture one changes their update & service strategy in the future, it's really uncool to buy a product and 5 months later have to buy the next one. Technology evolves quickly yes but this is ridiculous!
