D800 not tethering on new MBP
My D800 is not tethering to my new Macbook Pro. I've swapped cables, no cf cards, reset camera settings and still no go. I've even tried tethering with Lightroom and it won't show up.
I've checked the camera on my late2012 iMac and it'll tether up just fine in C1 7.1.6 and LR5.3 .
Both my computers are running Mavericks.
I can also see the camera connected via "System Information" on both computers
I also have the Nikon "drivers" selected. I've even gone so far as to have the Nikon drivers unselected - when I do this and plug the camera in C1 will prompt me to restart with the correct Nikon drivers selected... but still the camera will not show up.
Has anyone else had this problem and have any thoughts on a solution?
My only other thoughts right now are to try and reinstall the OS.

I've also deleted the plist and reinstalled a fresh download of C1 7.1.6 and 7.1.5 0 -
what usb port on the mbp are you plugging into? The one on the right seems more solid on my mbp. how long is the cable? What brand cable are you using? 0 -
I'm mostly using the cable that came with the camera, but I have a plethora of other cables that I've been switching through .. They range from 3ft to 6ft to 15ft. And I'm trying both ports. 0 -
I think you'd better open a support case and handle over the logs or other information requested to get to the bottom of it. 0 -
As the OP has the same problem when tethering to Lightroom it seems rather unlikey that Capture One is at the root of the problem.

Had a similar problem, I think it's another apple product power issue. The camera would not tether with my usual cables but WOULD with a tiny hard drive Usb 3 cable. eventually got it going with a repeater but this wouldn't work on cables over a certain length. 0 -
Did anyone get to the bottom of this problem? I'm having the same issue - it's all fine on my 2yr old macbook but not on this brand new one....weird! 0
