differences in 3.7: previews and file handling
Under 3.6, unless one deleted a file from within CO (rather than from the finder or PS), the preview, thumbnail (and whatever) files, remained on the drive. If you deleted them from the capture file, and then the trash, in CO, the preview files would be removed. Could someone please answer two questions:
1) Is 3.7 any different with respect to file handling? If a file has been deleted outside of CO, will CO clean up its own files (i.e. remove the related thumbnail and priview files? Is there a command to rebuild the session which will save processing data for the files that remain?
2) Are the assorted session files created by CO smaller now than they were under 3.6? Disk space may be cheap, but desk space is still at a premium. It would be nice if CO didn't create such large files.
Thanks for any help. Again, like some other threads, I will note that CO 3.7-Mac (and I only downloaded the actual release version) is running glacially slow on 10.4.

3.7 is not different from 3.6.1 in terms of file handling besides the new \"move to\" function.
When deleting capturefiles the previews, tumbs and workfiles will remain in a seperate folder inside the capturefolder. This is the same. However you can save that folder and the sessionfile and import this later from the organize tool inside the software.
Sessionfiles are the same size.0 -
Sorry,
Either I don't understand your answer, or I didn't state my question clearly.
Previews, thumbnails etc. take up a lot of room. If I delete an image from the \"Capture\" folder, but do so from outside of CO (from the finder, or from within photoshop) are these other related files deleted by CO when the session is opened again from within CO? This would be nice, because these files are huge.
Would deleting the session inside CO, and then reimporting it (how? double clicking on the session file in the old folder?) clean out the unnecessary files? I want to retain information on adjustments and processing, I just want to lose the files CO created which were ancillary to files which have been deleted.
For example, I capture \"Name....001\" through \"Name....099\". I have a session called \"Name\". Later, outside of capture one(which is not running), I delete \"Name 010\" through \"Name 033\". I'd like CO, when next I open the session, to delete the previews, thumbnails and info which went with 010 through 033, but keeping information for files still in the Capture folder.
Many of us use various applications for conversion and manipulation. Currently, I use CO for most of my conversions. But if I want to browse and delete files from within Bridge (CS2), I'd like CO to recognize that images are gone, and delete its own orphaned files (especially since these orphans are huge, and require lots of space).
Sorry to be so verbose, but I hope this was more clear.
