The Media Reader program was tied into your v3.7.7 installation, so that is why (after installing v4), v3.7.7 would still be the program it'll communicate with. I don't believe Media Reader comes with v4 (could be wrong, have only used the betas). Though many people like the Media Reader (for one I did not, I have my own folder structure and it takes little effort to copy the files manually); my biggest gripe with it however wasn't the functionality of the M.R. but rather the lack of option for turning it off at startup, requiring to use other tools (msconfig, regedit etc) to remove it from startup. If I could turn it off, it wouldn't bother me.

I'm not expecting C1v4 to recognise a memory card that's been inserted (Windows should at least bring up AutoPlay options asking what you'd like to do with it). I'm wondering if the inability to delete is due to the files being marked as read-only?

Have you considered using DownloaderPro (by the guy who wrote BreezeBrowser)? :

    From the "manual"......

"Inserting a memory card into a card reader will also bring up the import dialogue window. The Import window offers a range of options to make importing a quick and straightforward task."

Doesn't work on my machine. Anybody seen it work?

    It does not work.

CO4 intends to use the Autoplay option in Windows (like Downloader Pro does). This opinion is based on the configuration in the registry of Windows during installation of CO4 (it configures an Autoplay event for Pictures and Mixed Content).
You can see and set this option if you get the Autoplay pop-up after card insert or go the the properties of your card in Explorer. For a reason not known to me, this action does not take place. I assume a bug.

CO4 however is capable of starting and directly opening your media card with images if you invoke the following command in Start-Run dialog:
    "C:\\Program Files\\Phase One\\Capture One 4\\CaptureOne.exe" /import G:
    if G: is your cardreader.
This is the command that should be executed through Autoplay when a card is inserted and which is also registered in Windows during installation (recorded on XP SP2).

I have put this issue on my list for bug report (to be filed shortly).
