    I"m experiencing this problem too. I've also reported it. In my view it's an extremely serious problem; a photographic workflow that cannot include a solid to and fro to Photoshop is not a realistic workflow. Moreover, it's alarming that it's been lying around unfixed for so long.

    When did you report it, if you don't mind me asking?

    I can't be absolutely sure but I think probably a month or two back. There was a dialog, so I know it reached someone.

    Hi !

    The good side of having layered photoshop tiffs files in a sub-files (for exemple) and a flattenend tiff version, is that in a catalogue mode of work, you can only have the RAWs and de masters files.

    The catalogue is then lighter, faster and filtering is even more efficient ! 😉

    For exemple :

    I use sessions for project (in that way there is no import and rapidly at work).
    Once it's done I archive my files in catalogue (only RAWs and Masters)

    my folder look like this :

    1-Base-capture images (raw) - > in C1.
    2-Work in progress (wip layered photoshop files in TIff's ) (in a sub-folder not in C1)
    3-Masters (flattened tiffs) -> In C1
    4-Output files (Tiffs, Jpegs etc..) - > made with C1 recipies (not in C1)

    Hope it can help ! 😕

    I followed your link but am not entirely sure what point you're making with it, since many things are said in that thread. Can you clarify?

    Time to put my two cents in...

    I am a retoucher working in a studio filled with multiple shooters, who all shoot in Capture. Too stubborn to switch between LR and C1, I also work with layered Tiffs as it make organizing my project files much easier. I also have noticed that the previews will bring my system to a halt, and at times C1 will crash. As more and more retouchers are switching to Capture as their raw converter of choice, I certainly hope that this issue has been recognized, and I hope we will see a fix in the next software version.

    I have answered this on a different thread, , but recently I installed Windows via BootCamp.

    I found out that large TIFF files (>1.5GB) has no lag under Windows 10 when clicking on the thumbnails. There is definitely an issue of this feature under MAC OS. Version 9 & 10 has had the same problem under MAC OS.
