But it will be in the next service release very soon... 😉 0 -
Thanks Jim. 😄 0 -
Strange, 'cause it already ahs uncompressed ARW support for A700, A900, A850, A100 cameras.
...
Interesting, it will be 8.3.? or 8,4 point release with new features.0 -
Hurry, please! I didn't expect this would be a problem in Capture One. Now I have a whole night's worth of shooting that I can't work with. 0 -
NN212911UL It should be in next large C1 update. Meanwhile you can convert them to DNG if Lightroom is supporting Uncompressed File format, and then imprort them to C1 if you really want that. 0 -
Please give us an idea WHEN we can process our Sony uncompressed RAW in C1!!! I have a bunch of images waiting to work with and can't. Lightroom is an option but I don't like their RAW processing. And no way am I going to convert to DNG. Thanks. 0 -
Hi Eleanor,
Only Phase One can tell if and when an update is coming. As this is user-to-user forum, please contact Phase One support directly in a support case.
We all know that an update is pending including OS X 10.11 El Capitan support. Reading reports here, there are some caveats which hopefully are solved with the 10.11.1 update that Apple released today. But I am just guessing! Let's keep our fingers crossed.0 -
it was not the best decision by sony to make c1 the default converter and don't offer a own solution because it does not seem phase one cares much about sony customers.. 0 -

It's been like 3 days since the firmware update to allow uncompressed RAWs. Your expectations that this should be fixed instantaneously are not only unrealistic, they are just plain dumb.
Why are people adding untested and new variables to what sounds like a professional scenario with deadlines? It's crazy.0 -

it is dumb to not use a feature when it offers better image quality and it is simply bad customer service for an kind of official raw converter . there is no need for testing or do you think the sony engineers are idiots but maybe you don´t understand the difference between compressed and uncompressed raw format ?0 -

Presumably you are assuming that Sony's decision was public knowledge prior to the announcement.
Also that an application's users are more than willing to to continually spend time updating their systems every time something may change. (And also assuming that the application vendor is in a position to release properly managed updates every few days.)
In this case the assumed benefit to the users may prove real but up to know they have been accepting of the previous compressed RAW files and that has not changed. So where, exactly, is the urgency that has you suggesting so many negative opinions?

even if there is zero advantage it is up to the user what format he prefers,no ? most converter are able to open the uncompressed sony file just fine but the kind of "official" software does not. wow! what do you call good customer support hm ?
ps.: i did a test yesterday and i can assure you there is great benefit with the uncompressed format and it is not the artifact issue......0 -

Given you'll most likely have to use a lesser quality RAW converter to use it right now, I'd say it's pretty much horses for courses.
Guns and Roses were right ... have a little patience.0 -
The uncompressed files are easily read by Lightroom.
I know....but you can edit them there 😊0 -
8.3.4 now supports them, so enjoy 😊 0 -
Re: Sony A7RM2 Uncompressed File
I've got Capture One Pro 8.3.4 (fully paid and licensed) installed on a 64 bit Windows 8.1 (SONY Vaio laptop) machine and uncompressed raw files from my a7 II do not appear while compressed files from an a6000 do appear. I'm using an older version of Photo Mechanic to view, sort and generate TIFFS of these uncompressed Raw files
Strangely enough Capture One Express for Sony installed on another machine under Windows 7 32 bit does display uncompressed files (I've got several computers.) I prefer Capture One Pro 8.3.4 because this allows me to edit Canon files AND SONY files with one program.
E-mails to Capture One support prompt no reply from Capture One. I can find no phone number. I do have an address for them and I'm going to write via snail mail next week.
Anyone have any idea how to fix the problem?

Phone numbers are on the contact page.

Don't know if you can reach support that way.0 -

Joe,
You mention e-mails to support but not the creation of a Support Case.
The Support case system is hoe Phase record and manage Support requests and is the official and best means of contacting the people for the help you need. If you have not created a Case then I strongly suggest that you should.0 -
Two support cases have been opened; neither has been addressed. Case #206056 is the latest case number. Last Friday, days after I opened the first support case, I did receive an e-mail from Phase One directing me to a log in page, but obviously I can log in. Still waiting. 0
