But, Like the guy before, I do little with layers, and 99.99999% of the time my opacity is at 100%, and just adjust the sliders and what not. If I need multiple areas at different intensities, I just create a new layer. If I want to do fine grain things then yes off to PS.

...yes and maybe you have a lot of time processing your images with patient clients and without a heavy workload and tight deadlines.... and further more dislike intuitive painting with smooth transitions......0 -
You don't need it, fair enough, but many do including me. So don't assume your way of working is how everyone else works. Lightroom does it the way I mentioned. Having the option would be nice. As it stands I find the use of my Wacom pretty awkward in C1 compared to say Lightroom. [quote="olivier9" wrote:

Coming from Lightroom I was amazed to see that C17 didn't have support for Wacom's pen sensitivity where it's needed - opacity. I mentioned it to David Grover on one of the Phase blogs and he agreed it would be useful. I was surprised to see C18 hadn't seen this implemented.
You're talking about 2 different softwares. C1 is meant to Capture and process with the best quality and speed possible.
I'm using C1 for more than 10 years with the top end photographers (and a wacom) and I never needed the pen sensitivity.
Pen sensitivity means that you're "retouching" the RAW file ? Using C1 for that ? There's a lot more than pen sensitivity to be done to make that possible.
And again this is just my opinion.0 -

i think the problem is that for phaseone the main target market are amateurs - hard and software, only look at the imaging professors blog and you know what i mean... so i can understand wacom support ist not on high priority. sad to say but in a surprising way adobe understand professional needs better even with a mass market product like lightroom.0 -
Before this discussion is totally de-railed in guesswork and unnecessarily personal attacks, let's deal with your feature-request:
We very much listen to our users, when we look at what features to implement next. We do have quite a few Wacom users (I also use Wacoms in the office and at home on a daily basis), but even so, the requests for opacity control have not at all been on top of the list. How can you put in a vote for opacity control? Create a support case, and they'll track it and let the Product Manager know.
And now, to all, please keep the discussion in a proper tone. There's room for everyone.0 -

There are several problems with relying on user feedback in general. First one is that if you're aware of 90-9-1 rule you can guess that only a very small portion of users will create some valuable feedback and second problem with using support tickets is that is really limited one way communication designed for individual troubleshooting. The open system could encourage otherwise reluctant users to at least vote up if not comment that a feature is of importance to them.
But as we previously concluded that, at this point, you have no resources to migrate to such system you're pretty much limited to using common sense and fortune telling what users really want. In case of Apple this sometimes work, but... it's a risky strategy.
Back to the case of Wacom support, my common sense would suggest me that some if not all users might benefit from a better control over pressure sensitivity. There are numerous use cases that would fit into already awesome C1 capabilities. There are also numerous online resources from well known photographers who use concurrent apps or use C1 in fashion that would suggest they could benefit from this as well.
Or you could say... hey guys we have limited resources and for the next release we can develop one of these cool feature 1, 2 or 3, please let us know which one of these are of most importance for you. You get good insights and awesome PR 😉0 -

The forums are of course far from the only source of feedback we have. We use our extensive network of dealers, ambassadors, certified professionals and many more. We are also aware that the forums are not always representative for our different usergroups, but we do, as you can see, listen to the requests mentioned here.0 -
Considering this forum from Dial-Up era, you're doing an awesome job 😊 0 -

Christian,
A fair point to an extent but we own a Phase back and use Capture One every single day of the year and never speak to our dealer, never communicate with ambassadors and never have an opportunity to give you feedback, outside of the typical channels we've already discussed and feel are failing (us).
Just playing devils advocate a little bit because this is an important topic to me and one I'd like to see convict some change.0
