Service Pack 1 for Windows 7
Yesterday Microsoft released Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7. As a TechNet subscriber I had access a week earlier to the final code of the update. First thing I did was to run Capture One Pro 6.1.1 on it.
I did not encouter any problems so far in my limited testing: import from card, tethering (Canon 5D mkII), doing adjustments and copy/apply to selection, process to JPEG, TIFF (both 8- and 16-bit) with different profiles, creating web contactsheets.
I have not been able to test firewire-connected backs (not an unimportant feature, I would say).
I have been testing this on both the a 32- and 64-bit systems with the respective CO Pro versions.
The initial impression is that the SP1 update is pretty painless experience. I know Phase One is going into this as well and might give an upcoming CO 6.x update the green SP1 flag but I don't have confirmation about that. Please test if possible and do not update your system during a busy schedule. You might want to temporarily tune your Windows Update setting to postpone it (setting it from Automatic to Manual).
You are invited to share your experiences here, being it good, bad or ugly.

I updated today, thinking this would be a painless experience, but it wasn't. The good thing from CO6 point of view is that I can run CO6 without any issues. But the install of SP1 was a complete pain - claimed it had updated, but I couldn't access the system while there was v. slow disk activity. Took several hours before it had finished, with several re-boots. 0 -
Just installed Service pack 1 on my Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Machine. No problems at all, took about half an hour including one re-boot. Capture One seems to be working ok, I see no problems. 0 -
Thank you for your report. For your information, I did not use the Windows Update (as this was not yet activated, to start with). I downloaded the package first and installation took 10 minutes max. Download itself takes more time. 0 -
All good here, updated through Windows update, one reboot...6.1.1 appears to be normal. Thanks for the heads up, Paul. 0 -
Download and upgrade without any hickups or issues yesterday.
Capture one 6.1.1 running without any problems so far.0
