Hi Rob, your question should already have been answered in earlier post in this thread, unless I misread your post.

Hi everyone, that's my first post on this forum so sorry if i make any mistake.

I fallow all the process but i get stuck at the point of retrieve the Type0007 Module.bundle file. As after install the trial version updated of camera control pro ( downloaded from Nikon website ) there is no such file on my Nikon directory in the library.

I try install the CCP pro in my laptops but the Nikon folder is not even created on the Library. The funny things is that during the install process i see the Type0007 Module.bundle file and the others been writing on my mac.

If anyone can help with this i will be really tankful.

    Cheers

    Lorenzo ❓

Check in the Library of your hardrive vs your user library. And you will need the latest version of Nikon Control PRo 2.

Version of Nikon CCP? As others posters here have pointed out you need at least 2.11.

    Hi,

first of all I want to thank you for the workaround, you all helped me a lot.
After doing the workaround and copying the Type0007 file into the CO folder,
it didn't work. Then on the second page I read that someone also had to copy
the Type0006 file. After doing this, my D800 was recognized by CO properly.

    So to sum up:

Do the workaround with all steps as said before

    +

    Also copy the Type0006 file!!

    Hope I could help : )

I copied the, "Type0006 Module, and Type0007 Module" Fiels to the , "MAID" folder and our 800E is tethering to my laptop and IMAC, full camera control is available, I am so happy! Wish I had found this post sooner! 😄 😄 😄 😄 😄 Thanks for the bone!!!

Capture One 6.4.3 is released today. It has tethering support for the Nikon D800/D800E as well as the D4.

Did any of those with USB 3.0 cards (expresscard 34 or pci cards for pro macs, aside from the new macbook pros with built in USB 3.0) test wether the d800 works already over 3.0 in the new version?

Would be great if i do not have to buy a new MB Pro just after a couple month.. haha

USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 so it should not be an issue at all.

    Update is here;

I guess you never did shoot on USB 2.0 with a D800 😊
It might be backward compatible - but i am talking about speed not wether i can physically use the same cable/port.

USB 2.0 is simply the bottleneck i want to bypass.
That is about the same as having to shoot with a P45+ but with a faster frequenz over USB 2.0 instead of being able to shoot over firewire.

Also I have noticed stability issues when performing the workaround for D800 with Phase One H20 backs.

After the work around was installed COP does not want to play nice with H20 back and a Hassleblad system.

Sometimes the H20 won't connect and after a shot has been taken I need to restart the program altogether.

Most definitely NOT a solution if one wants to shoot tethered with Nikon D800 and the Blad/H20 combination.

Its like you need to have 2 separate machines for each system now.

    Really.

Since the release of CO 6.4.3 last week, you should not have to implement this D800 tether workaround anymore. Just update your software.

I even made a point to completely remove the older version. Is anyone else having issues?

So far, I have not read posts with D800 tethering issues since CO 6.4.3, IIRC.
Have you disabled the Canon camera provider in Preferences. I assume a dialog warned you about it. And you have not other software connecting to your D800, like Image Capture, Aperture, Lightroom, Nikon software?

From what I understood, it is up to Nikon (or Canon for that matter) to provide the basics to 3rd party developers.

Invite your friend, treat him well and share his secrets with us. 😉
It is discussed here more often, you can use the Canon software for live view and tethering and the CO6 Hot Folder feature for reviewing the last image.

😄 Will visit him next week and find out how he does it....

I've upgraded to 6.4.3 and am tethering fine with my D800E and D800 now. I had some problems getting the cameras to be
seen by C1 until I got a better USB cable. I'm using the Tethertools USB cables, plus an L Bracket and locking Spacer Block from Really Right Stuff to keep the cable secure, and things have been much better since.
