How to delete Pictures
Hello,
(excuse me I am from Germany and my english may not be good enough that anyone can understand my Question)
I use capture one 11, Test Version and will find out wether I will buy it or not.
Normaly I organise my Pictures in the Explorer (Windows). Then I Import them to Capture one. I dont want my Pictures in the database. The Organisation in the explorer, for me, is my fouvrite Kind of work.
When I look at my Pictures the first time I decide what Pictures I want to have and what Pictures I want to delete.
When I decide to delete a Picture (because I dont like it) the Picture is away from Capture one (in the wast Basket) But the Pictures are still on my hard drive.
If I want to delete the Pictures I have to compare the waste Basket whith the Dates on the hard drive and have at least to delete every Picture wich is in the in the Basket form the hard drive for that it is away.
I have to do it for every single picture
That is not very easy and costs a lot of time.
In Lightroom for example I can reject Pictures I dont like. After that I can delete all rejected Pictures. When I delete them I am asked wether I want to delete them from Lightroom or from my hard drive too. Then I decide to delete them from my hard drive to and they were gone. Thats what I want.
If I take (for example) 500 Pictures and will reject/delete 200 of them. It does not help to reject them from the database of capture one. I dont want to have the 200 rejected files at all.
Is there a way (as f.e. in Lightroom) to do that?
Kind regards

You need to be working in session mode. Set up a session (File/new session) then ignore the session folders and go straight to System Folders in the Library. You can then navigate through folders just as you have them set up in explorer. Any pictures you want to delete just right click and select delete (move to session trash). The picture is not deleted yet (you can still change your mind). When you have moved all the pictures you want to delete to the session trash right click on the trash folder in the session folders and select empty session trash and after a warning your pictures will be gone. 0 -

Hello,
the Tip to work in Sessinos works,
thank you very much.
If I am in a Session I can hit "del" and the Pictures are gone (as I want it).
Thank you very much.
meanwhile I found another way (someone told me).
If you are not in a session you can hit "alt+del" and it will work in the same way. You will receive a message that the Picture will be deletet at all (also on a hard drive), you have to say yes and they were gone.
Again,
thank you very much.
Kind regards
