Importing from multiple folders?
I can't seem to figure out how to import images from multiple folders at once. I've tried dragging the multiple folders from the Finder to the import window. I've tried shift-clicking and option-clicking on more than one folder in the import dialog.
I just finished shooting a three day event and the images are in 3 dated folders within my 2017 folder. There must be a way. Please advise.
Thank you!

What happens if you create a temporary folder, move your three folders into this temporary folder and try to import this temporary folder? 0 -
I suspect that would work fine. I average 7,000 images weekly and rely on a specific file/folder structure. Having to temporarily create a folder and move 3 days of images into the folder just to import them all at once to Capture One Pro seems a bit of a kludge. (But thanks for the response!) 0 -
What if you create this temporary folder and then move /aliases/ of your three folders instead of the folders themselves? 0 -
If the event is tethered shooting (which is probably not the case), you maybe can structure the day's intakes under a single folder as you shoot?
If you are shooting to card and transferring to disk maybe consider the transfer from each card to a folder under the Capture Folder in your C1 receiving Session. (I am assuming you you a session at this point rather than a catch all catalogue?)
Your could, potentially just use the card to disk upload as your Import although I appreciate that might add time. However it's what I do, usually, when shooting an event.
Alternatively, for faster card to disc copying in the absence of C1 availability, just add the files in folders under a Master folder and then, later, import from the Master folder to C1 or simply reference the files where they are.
Which ever approach one uses (for sessions - I have no well used insights for catalogues as projects using them have never been more than experiments for me ) it's relatively easy to plan ahead and very advantageous anyway (in my opinion) to group the images under a master folder even if it is solely for speed of creating backup collections during the event.
However I am aware that we all have different preferences and what seems good to me might be a rejected approach for you.
HTH.

Hello Dave,
Best I can tell you cannot import more than one folder at a time. Wish is was possible as well.
As there are many......a workaround might be to pre-create your folders at the file level, making sure at least 1 files is in the folder so they will import into C1. You can also create empty folders from within C1.Then, simply add your images to the appropriate folders from the file level and then in C1 synchronize the root. So long as the subfolders have been imported into C1 already, syncing will update each folder with the new contents.
