There is a Pro version of 4 coming. The current (LE level) version does not support tethered capture, nor does it utilize sessions, or color editor. All the major features of 3.7 pro will be included in 4.0 Pro plus a few extras.

Like a true point-Curves tool comparable to ACR 4... There are a host of essential features in C1 Pro v.3.7 that are absent in Capture One 4. I certainly hope that these will without exception be considered "major features" by Phase One to be incorporated in the 4 Pro version.

Again, Capture One 4 IS NOT the PRO version.
The PRO 4 is forthcoming and will have ALL the same features currently in PRO 3.7.7

All PRO Owners may download/install/and activate 4 with the PRO Product Key for Free.
This Does Not count towards # of Activations and when 4 PRO arrives you will be able to UpGrade and Activate.

As V4 has all the features of V3 LE or what?
I count on you!! My V3 pro is able to display sharp previews (LE was too). So if V4 pro is still unable to generate sharp previews at any viewing size and viewing sizes smaller than 25% still don't stick ... this is idle talk again.

by the way: isn't it funny that we have to talk about sharp images as a "feature"?! 😉

    Hi Keith,

I am a C1 Pro user and tried to activate V4 with my C1 Pro product key. However, an error message came up and said that V4 cannot be activated because my upgrade limit is exceeded. What's happening?

    Cheers,

    Patrick

PS: Merry X'mas to all ! Keep smilin'

Capture One V4's focus tool is way too slow for my editing process. Typically I only need to look at the sharpness of my subject's eyes at 100%. Capture One 3.7 allowed me to do this quickly but V4 enlarges the entire image very slowly and forces me to use the move tool to navigate to the person's eyes. Is this going to be the new method for Capture One Pro V4? If so, it will render the program unusable for me.[/u][/quote]

That's a good (and fast) thing in C1 V3x: we have a viewer for the entire image (sharpness adequate) and focus tab to control 100% sharpness (details, colors a.s.o.).
But if they change the concept now they can not sacrify sharpness for the 25% view - this is the most essential view (especially when shooting tethered in pro). They should better throw out rendering at 67% (and even 50% is more or less useless in C1 as it does not support printers). So we can keep on working fast and accurate at 25% and can jump to 100% if we want to check details.
But banning sufficient sharp previews at 25% is a cardinal fault.
Maybe they changed it because so many people were irritated that the viewer in V3x shows the image more contrasty, more saturated and more sharp as the final output file. Understandable so far (for LE). But the price is much to high.
