It may be overdue for an update, but perhaps get the message.0 -
Language Switcher (free software) must be thé easiest way to set the language you want to open CO1 in.
Thanks Paul. I've set CO1 back to English. But the, I studied English and read what I can in English anyway.
B.t.w. there are a few small mishaps in the Dutch language, words not being placed right and only 3/4 visible in height. The English version does not have this.
Plus there are some really peculiar words 😲

well.i just tested language switcher - it works perfectly for one-time change...
doesn't work at all for permanent change

Chris, I noticed the words or terms being broken and reported this. When working Dutch, I work still English myself, I noticed the English online help is used, while there is a Dutch translation as well. Has been report too.
If you ever feel up to it, you can contact me through website or linkedin (see URLs in signature) for the really peculiar words in the translation. Or this forum, but it can be a bit of topic. Thanks.0 -

At the top of the dropdown menu there is the option to make the language switch permanent.
If for some reason this does not work for you, open the application folder ( ctrl+click show package content) CO/Contents/Resources and delete the folder pl.lproj. Missing the folder with the polish language the application will revert to english. Following this procedure pls remember that You have to delete the language folder every time CO is updated to a new version.0 -
hi Ario
exactly - for some reason setting up the option of permanent switch doesn't work for me
the trick with deleting local language "lproj" folder works very well
Thank You very much0 -
Due to the Dutch translation, new in CO8, I am now in need of an solution myself. I have set OS X in English, but need CO8 in Dutch of training purposes and be able to set it back to English after that.
I checked wether the Terminal command in my post - mentioned earlier in this thread - still works. Yes it does, even in Yosemite.
As Terminal reminds commands, it is easy to switch back to English, or any other language I like to test or try. You can browse through Terminal commands with the up/down cursor keys.
Although the Terminal command seems a bit intimidating, it is a 'set-and-forget' action. You can copy/paste the command and enter your language at the end of the line. I find deleting the 'lproj' folder the least preferred option as you are not really setting anything but tampering with the program code. And you have to repeat it each time you apply an update.
YMMV. Do what fits you best.0
