C1 10.1 continually generating previews

C1 is continually generating previews every time I open sessions. Taking like an hour or more to generate the 1640px previews each time. Close C1 and open same session and it starts over again.


These are Fuji X-T2 files - compressed (thought they were uncompressed, but they're compressed

Edit: Same thing on two machines. My normal big video card editing PC, and a GeForce 960m Laptop.


Think I'll try converting them in Iridient Transformer and see what the outcome is.

  Tried same Session in C1 10.0.2 and it works fine with no continual preview regeneration.

  I noticed something similar in my catalog. Preview and thumbnail generation hang when I go to a different folder and apparently resume when I go back to the previous folder; and sometimes it does not resume, leaving unfinished previews and thumbnails.
  
  Uncompressed X-T2 files here.
  
  Confusing; I'll do more experimentation tomorrow.

  I think I may be seeing something similar here when using Sessions, although I'm shooting Nikon (NEF files). Something is driving my backup software nuts (makes bkups on file changes after a few seconds delay) so I get messages like this:
  
  == Sync Started by On File Change, 5 min passed but Changes keep on coming ==
  
  which makes it appear that the same files are being overwritten continually.
  
  EDIT: After looking at the logs, it appears that the .cos files are being updated even though no adjustments are being made to the images. Not sure about previews yet.
